The IVARED project recently launched a set of online learning modules designed to help educators look at important issues surrounding students who are English language learners (ELLs) with disabilities. Access to the modules and their content is free and open to all educators.
Module content is divided into the following portions:
- “The Essentials” – Introduction and background information
- “The Students” – Information about this population of students
- “Participation” – Participation decisions
- “Accommodations” – Accommodations decisions
- “Results” – How the results of assessments should be used
Educators can register for a username and password at http://www.ivared.info/session. Users can then log in whenever they like and work their way through the module content. Most users take between 70 and 90 minutes to complete all five sections of the module.
