NCEO has several resources that can be used to learn more about what the research says about the effectiveness of various accommodations.

Online Accommodations Bibliographies – NCEO has two online searchable accommodations bibliographies which allow users to search a compilation of empirical research studies on the effects of various testing accommodations for students who are English Learners and students with disabilities.

Accommodations for English Learners Online Bibliography (NEW!) – With the support of the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) through the Improving Instruction for English Learners Through Improved Accessibility Decisions project, NCEO has launched the English Learners Accommodations Bibliography, which allows users to search a compilation of empirical research studies on the effects of various testing accommodations for students who are English Learners.

Accommodations for English Learners Online Bibliography – This interactive database allowing users to search a compilation of empirical research studies on the effects of various testing accommodations for students with disabilities.

Accommodations Research Literature Reviews – NCEO has published several syntheses of the research on test accommodations. Separate reports are available which summarize the research published in various years. This series of summaries of the research on effects of test accommodations go back to 1999: 2015-2016, 2013-2014, 2011-2012, 2009-2010, 2007-2008, 2005-2006, 2002-2004, 1999-2001.
