This presentation shares results from a national survey of leaders in the special education and assessment offices of state education agencies (SEAs), and reviews three states’ approaches and procedures for monitoring alternate assessments based on alternate academic achievement standards (AA-AAAS) participation decision making. Implementation successes and challenges are highlighted, and recommendations for best practices are shared.
