The Council of Chief State School Officers’ (CCSSO) annual National Conference on Student Assessment (NCSA) provides an opportunity for assessment practitioners to learn and collaborate on current and emerging trends in education and educational assessments. This year’s NCSA theme is, Connecting the Dots: Building Coherent Systems to Support Student Success. NCSA will take place in Austin, Texas on June 22-24.

NCEO staff members will participate in several sessions on a range of topics. On Monday, Virginia Ressa will be introducing a session highlighting state guidance for assessment of English Learners with Disabilities. Tuesday’s schedule includes three NCEO presentations. Andrew Hinkle will lead a presentation on the intersection of school choice and special education. Virginia Ressa and Yi-Chen Wu will be part of an expert panel on process data. Also on Tuesday is Andrew Hinkle’s panel session on valid use of accessibility tools. Lastly, don’t miss Yi-Chen’s MIDAS project presentation on tools to support alternate assessment transitions.
